Weather in June can be delightful with ocean breezes helping keep humid temps in control. Evening can be cool and may require a light sweater. Summers average highs are above 80F (26C) and overnight lows above 60F (15C). Pop up thunderstorm are also not uncommon, so you may want to include an umbrella in your packing.

The Public Garden, also known as Boston Public Garden, is the first public botanical garden in America, and adjacent to Boston Common, the oldest public park. The Public Garden is  in the heart of Boston and surrounded by Charles, Boylston, Arlington and Beaco Streets. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987.

Robert Mccluskey wrote Make Way for Ducklings, a children’s story about a family of ducks and their journey to the Public Garden. The Public Garden is also well known for its swan boats and as partial setting for E.B. White’s Trumpet of the Swan, who’s main character (a swan!) briefly lived in the same hotel as our event.

The key role Boston played in the American Revolution is highlighted on the Freedom Trail, a 2.5 mile walking route of historic sites that tells the story of the nation’s founding, and includes stops at Paul Revere’s house, Bunker Hill and Mother Goose’s final resting place.

Another stop, former meeting house Faneuil Hall, is now a popular marketplace.
